 《达洛卫夫人》是20世纪英国文坛最伟大的女性作家弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的代表作,整部作品以文中的上流社会妇女克拉里萨·达洛卫为线索,讲述她在准备晚会招待客人的那一天内,伦敦的事迹已经她周身的人(包括她自己)的所闻所见。

小说里充斥着对战争的谴责,对人性的批判、对生的失望、死的向往、对上流社会的虚幻、宗教的无力、女性的卑微等做了大量描述和反抗意识,这也是现今国内外对弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的研究最主要的几个方向。本文主要探究的是弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫对生死的独特观点。

本文通过对弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的生平的阐述以及对达洛卫夫人这部作品的内容,写作背景,创作动机的概述,对作品中独特的生死观的产生做一个铺垫; 接下来通过对作品中几对主要人物性格的分析来体现这种生死观的形成;然后回到作品中,在其间找出直接论据和间接论据证明这种生死观的存在和体现;最后总结陈述对这种生死观的客观认识和其在现代社会的影响。

 

 Mrs Dalloway was the master work of Virginia Woolf, who was the greatest British female writer in 20 century. This novel, with Clarissa Dalloway as the clue, mainly described she was preparing the evening party for her guests, during the day what happened in London and what the people around her (including herself) saw and heard.

This novel briefly included all aspects of the view of Virginia Woolf: the censure to the War and the criticism to the humanity, the disappointment to life and the expectation to death, the description and fighting conception to the vanity of the upper class, the helplessness of religion, the lowliness of femininity. And these were also the major research directions of the scholars around the world to Virginia Woolf. 

The research direction of this article is Virginia Woolf' s view of life and death. This article, first of all makes a foundation of the emergence of Woolf' s view of life and death through the states of her lifetime and the summarization of the content, writing background and creation motive of this book; then it shows how this view of life and death generated by analyzing the character of couples of the main figures in the book; next it returns to the novel and demonstrates the existence and expression of this view of life and death by both the straight arguments and indirect arguments in the sentences from the book; finally it concludes the objective perception of the writer from this view of life and death and the impact to the modern society.
