一、教材内容分析
This unit is to learn how to describe the personality of people, and how to compare the differences between people in terms of appearance, personality and so on. It Is also about how to use comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs, and how to describe people' s changes during recent years. Through the study of this unit, students can deepen their understanding of the differences between people, and increase their tolerance and respect for others. Through a series of listening, speaking, reading and writing exercises, the students' ability to use English is improved a lot. Through group cooperation and pair cooperation activities, students can improve the communication ability, enhance the understanding and friendship between each other and know the meanings and values of friendship.
二、学习者特征分析
The students are about 12 or 13 years old. On the one hand, at this age, they are active and enjoy fun activities. They are particularly interested in songs, games, and imitations. Therefore, they prefer the classes full of interest. On the other hand, they have many shortcomings on learning. Firstly, they can't catch the essentials when they are listening to classes and taking notes, and they can not attach the importance to the combination of the theory and practice. Secondly, they do not memorize words or phrases by heart, and can't understand and master the knowledge. Thirdly, they don't like to ask for help. Although they have questions, they don't ask teachers and classmates in time. Finally, lacking of initiative, they don't have a clear learning purpose, and their enthusiasm of learning is poor. However, as a matter of fact, most students like to learn English and take an active part in English learning.
