一、教材内容分析

This unit is the first unit of Go for it (People’ s Education Press), which is the textbook for the ninth grade students. This unit mainly focuses on the communicative function of “exploring the ways to become good learners”. In Section A, students are supposed to talk about each other’ s learning methods. In section B, students will discuss about the difficulties in learning and find solutions. The reading material for this unit is about the tips of learning. Students can learn some ways through this material. The post-reading activities enable students to explore new learning methods. Therefore, the topic of “exploring the ways to become good learners” is closely related to students’ life, which can evoke their interest in learning and enable them to actively participate in relevant activities.  

二、学习者特征分析

Students have a certain English foundation and language learning ability, and their ability of language cognition is relatively strong, which is the advantage of English learning. They are about to face the senior high school entrance examination and hope to find a good learning method to increase their marks. But since they came to junior high school, some of them have been playing and have poor self-discipline. These students are easily distracted, but the classroom atmosphere is good. As a result, group activities, classroom games and other exercises are used to arouse students’ resonance and stimulate students’ interest in learning.
