Abstract:Under the trend of globalization, the cross-culture communication between China and Western countries becomes more and more a hot issue and the influences of Chinese and Western etiquettes are increasingly profound, which causes the differences of both cultures, particularly the differences of table manners. In this paper, the Chinese and Western table manners are explored to have a good understanding of the characteristics, to investigate the inner regulation from common phenomenon, and to work out the differences and similarities of Chinese and Western table manners and the reasons they formed. Nowadays, in cross-culture communication, the diet taboos have established obstacles in the international association and the cultural communication, so people have to pay more attention to it in hope that communication can be carried out smoothly. Therefore, the taboos of Chinese and Western table manners, a sensitive but practical significant issue, should be put into comprehensive and in-depth discussion. This thesis, by discussion and studies, is to reduce the obstacles of Chinese and Western intercourse, to promote Chinese and Western civilized communication, and to push the harmonious development of interpersonal relationship and international commercial negotiations proceeding smoothly.

中文摘要:在全球化背景下，随着中西跨文化交际活动的日益频繁，中西方礼仪文化的影响也越来越深，致使双方的差异也表露无遗，其中餐桌礼仪方面的差异表现的尤为突出。本文对中西方餐桌礼仪进行探讨，了解中西方餐桌礼仪的特点，并从平凡的现象中探求其内在规律，引出双方餐桌礼仪的不同点和共同点以及浅析其形成差异的原因。在当今跨文化的交际中，饮食禁忌在国际交往和文化交流中设置了障碍，使人们不得不注意它以其交际的顺利进行。因此，本文对中西方餐桌礼仪的禁忌这个比较敏感而又具有实际意义的话题进行更加综合和深入的探讨。通过探讨与研究，减少双方交往的障碍，促进中西方文明交流，促使人际关系和谐发展以及国际商业谈判顺利进行。
