Abstract:The thesis analyzes the system of the Chinese and English onomatopoeia from symbols, phonology and grammar. It describes the similarities and differences between the Chinese and English onomatopoeia, and discusses the existent distinction. Except for these, the thesis also discusses the translating methods between Chinese and English Onomatopoeia.

　　　At first, the writer analyzes the function and origin of Onomatopoeia and illustrates the research purposes and methods. Then he talks about the origin of the Chinese and English onomatopoeias. The writer also gives an analysis of the similarities and differences between the Chinese and English Onomatopoeia in four aspects. Following the comparison, it comes to the most important part: the translation between Chinese and English Onomatopoeia. In this part, the writer summarizes some useful translating methods between Chinese and English.

　　Meme Theory, which is the theory basis of this article, provides much theoretical foundation for the writer. According to the meme theory, the author collects many useful examples along with some comparisons to research the difference between Chinese and English onomatopoeia, therefore offers some help for the following scholars who are interested in this topic.

摘要:中外学者对拟声词的研究由来已久，我国学者对拟声词的运用和研究由来已久，但是基本都是泛泛而谈，少有细致的研究。最近几十年来，学者们开始把拟声词作为一个独立的词类进行细致的语法分析。我国对汉语拟声词的研究可以追溯到1898年《马氏文通》，从那时起至今一百多年来，学者们对于拟声词的研究日益兴盛。本文从符号、语音、语法等方面系统分析了英文和中文中的拟声词，总结了汉、英拟声词系统所存在的共性和差异，并对造成这些差异的原因进行了探讨。此外，本文还重点分析了中英拟声词互译的方法。

　　本文首先分析了拟声的作用及其由来，然后通过对拟声词词类归属、语义功能、语音结构的分析归纳中英拟声词的差异。在对拟声词做了具体分析之后，文章重点分析了英语拟声词的汉译及汉语拟声词的英译。具体问题具体分析，细致的列出中英拟声词翻译的方法。文章以模因论为理论依据，通过举例子、作比较等手法探讨了中英拟声词的差异，为后来学者的拟声词研究提供一定的参考与帮助。
