Abstract: There are various kinds of errors in C-E translation of public signs; basically they can be classified into two categories: linguistic errors and pragmatic errors. These errors will not only affect the quality of sign translation, but also bring great inconvenience to our foreign guests. The thesis aims to analyze these errors and put forward some proposals in improving public sign translation.
