Abstract: Nowadays news is becoming more and more indispensable to people’s life. One of the traditional media is newspaper with a more stable written form. As part of public life, this form of media has borrowed words, phrases or expressions from society and at the same time generated a lot of new language forms and usages, which, in turn, influence people’s everyday speech. Journal English has even developed into a branch of modern stylistics with the name journalistic language. The thesis aims to summarize the features of English news in the text, syntax, and vocabulary, to figure out proper theories applicable in English news translation and to discuss the issues concerning the transference of the journalistic style.

摘要：进入信息社会，新闻与我们的关系越来越密切，新闻报道已经成为生活中不可或缺的要素。新闻语言从社会生活的各个领域广泛引进词汇和表达法，同时也创造了很多新的表达形式和用法，这些新表达、新用法又反过来影响日常语言。新闻英语甚至已经发展成为具有自身特点的文体。论文分析归纳了新闻英语在篇章、句法、词汇方面的特点，探询可以适用于英语新闻翻译的理论，讨论了新闻文体风格移译中的相关问题。
