Abstract With the development of multimedia and network technique, there is a great change in the learning and life style of learners. Various kinds of mobile apps, as a means makes up for the limitation of traditional learning and teaching, attract learners with vivid and interesting pictures, films videos and music. They also provide a specific learning package for each learner to make their schedule for learning in which they are allowed to learn and consolidate accordingly. First and foremost, this paper tends to present and study the virtual situation in the approach of mobile apps. Then give a brief introduction of its definition, its merits as well as its characteristics. On account of study, there are five principles that need to be aware of when setting up virtual situation. And there are also some suggestions commended towards teachers and learners for making use of virtual situation. On the other hand, it is hoped that this paper intends to help learners to facilitate not only acquiring vocabulary, but also learning strategies and skills as well as autonomic learning abilities whole life long. What’s more, this thesis can contribute to the future exploration of virtual situation and its application in learning and teaching. It may well promote the innovation in education.
