Abstract

 Reading comprehension plays an important role in English teaching. Therefore, the students' reading ability and the problems in English reading teaching attracted the attention of English teachers. However,There are still many obstacles in English teaching-learning.So the reform of teaching methods of English has been on the stage. Task-based language teaching (TBLT) contributes to the improvement of students’ integrated language skills which emphasizes “learning by doing”.Besides,it’s recommended by the “New Standards Senior High School Curriculum”.But TBLT is still a debating topic for its design and application. How to apply TBLT method to English teaching especially in English reading in middle school efficiently still needs to be solved. 

     This passage will talk about the application of TBLT to reading teaching in senior high from 6 chapters:chapter one introduces the background of TBLT and the urgent of the research.Chapter two talks about researches in foreign countries and China.And basic information of tasks.Chapter 3 is about the significance of application of TBLT to reading teaching in senior high such as such as improving study efficiency,developing students’ cooperation ability and increasing students’ motivation.Chapter 4 is the application of TBLT to reading teaching in senior high.Last,chapter 5 draws a conclusion,mainly discuss the benefits and prospect of the application of TBLT to reading teaching in senior high.
