内容简介

在全球化程度日益加深的今天,各国家间经济合作日益紧密,这既是机遇,又是挑战。语言是沟通的桥梁。想要抓住机遇,我们就要积极地通过学习语言,了解贸易走向和经济动态。本次翻译材料选取自美国《商业周刊》。此周刊系全球销量第一之商业类杂志,所刊文章为读者提供财经,金融,科技应用动向及企业内部机制管理等方面的知识。

本次翻译实践所选的三篇文章分别涉及企业内部分权制衡、纺织配额和品牌战略。给读者提供了大量金融领域的信息,并且充分展现了商务报刊杂志文章的特点。

第一篇文章主要讲了企业内部权力的新平衡点。具体表现在公司内部董事、审计员和律师之间分权制衡,互相监督,从而保证公司高效有序的运作。

第二篇文章关注的是纺织行业中贸易配额的终结给发展中国家带来的影响,包括加纳,多米尼加,土耳其,泰国,菲律宾等从前依靠贸易配额的国家。同时也指出全球化竞争下,逐低竞争所带来的利弊。

    第三篇文章的主题是日益占领世界的美国品牌,和反美情绪对品牌的影响。其中提到了美国品牌的经济环境优势、价值观优势和因地制宜的营销策略。

 

INTRODUCTION

 With the increased globalization, there is a closing economic link between different countries, which brings opportunities as well as challenges. Since English is the international language and plays a role as the bridge between countries, it is extremely significant to keep a close eye on and forecast economic dynamic states through English study. As a leading business magazine in the world, <Business Week> provides a platform for readers to obtain financial information involving technology and economy development as well as internal and external management system of companies. 

Adapted from <Business Week>, <The Boss on the Sidelines>, <Where Free Trade Hurts>, and < Brands> are all business articles. There are three topics, authority distribution in companies, free trade and brand strategies, which have vital significance for anti-corruption, international trade, and brand valve.

<The Boss on the Sidelines> shows a new balance on the distribution of company authority. In this article, directors, auditors and lawyers are going to supervise each other and try to avoid company corruption.

<Where Free Trade Hurts> is concerned with the textile industry. It shows how the end of apparel quotas influences countries used to depend on it such as Turkey, Thailand, The Republic of Ghana and Philippines.

<Brands> is mainly about American brand and anti-American prejudice. This article notes several strength of American brands such as pluralistic economy, attractive American values, and artful marketing method.
