Abstract: Severus Snape is a character in Harry Potter written by English writer J.K. Rowling. In the story, Harry Potter is the “everyman” hero, while Severus Snape, Potter’s Potions Professor, displays many traits of the traditional anti-hero and appears to be less attractive and agreeable. In the final book of the series Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, however, people find Snape has a complex personality of significant importance, which is worth analyzing. This thesis intends to analyze Snape in the light of Byronic heroism, and aims to reach the conclusion that he is more of a Byronic hero than a villain. Snape’s experience makes children understand that a person in his life journey is not immutable, and there can be multiple choices. Even if you made serious mistakes in the past, as long as you want to make correct, you still can be brave and heroic. Keywords: Harry Potter;Severus Snape; Byronic Hero
