Abstract The writer of this thesis intends to discuss the translator’s subjectivity based on the hermeneutic theory and Skopos theory. At first, the author states clearly the definition of the translator’s subjectivity. Besides, this thesis also explains the translator's subjectivity through the choice of the original text, and the option of translational strategies. And this paper also takes Zhang Peiji's Selected Modern Chinese Essays as an example for better analysis of the manifestations of the translator's subjectivity during the translation process. At the end of this paper, the writer also suggests that the translator should owns creative consciousness and notice its restrictive factors when in the process of translation so as to carry the research of translation into practice.
