[中文摘要]：陶行知先生是我国近代教育史上功勋卓著的教育家。他对音乐十分的重视，他的音乐教育实践与思想，为中国的大众音乐教育开辟了先河。从他的音乐实践活动中，可窥视他音乐教育的观点、方法与主张。陶行知年代，我国的一些音乐作曲家们，他们认为只有学习西洋音乐文化才能救国，这些观点都为以后以西方音乐为主体的音乐教育及其教育体系和传统音乐及理论的兴衰得到全面推广做了铺垫。当时以西方音乐为主体的中国学校音乐教育虽然对建立和发展近代中国音乐文化起到了重大作用，做出了重大贡献，但由于学校中的音乐教育未能把传承中国音乐作为自己的重要职责，因而对多数教育者来说，接受民族音乐文化的传承受到了相当程度的阻隔和影响。

　　今天，我们研究他的音乐教育思想，将对如何传承、发扬其教育思想的精髓，搞好音乐教育改革带来更多的启示。
