教材内容分析 This unit is the fifth unit in the first volume of Grade 7 Go for it. This unit is mainly about the sports and hobbies. Students can talk about the ownership and express their opinions about the sports by learning the names of the ball games and the description of the sports. The topic of this unit can easily arouse students’ interest in learning because they are close to students’ life. There are two sections in this unit and each section has three periods. Section A revolves around “Do you have a soccer ball?” to conduct vocabulary building, listening and grammar teaching. In vocabulary and reading, this period presents some words and phrases about sports. Students can learn about sports and athletes from all over the world. Listening and speaking deepen the pronunciation of words and the use of sentence patterns. Students can use “have” to ask questions and answer the ownership of items, master the general questions guided by “do and does”. In grammar, students are directed to summarize important grammar in this unit. Through the self-summary and communication in groups, students can take a good habit of learning and build a spirit of cooperation. Section B mainly contains the description of the sports and the suggestions of the activities, which trains the integrated skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In speaking and listening, students can express their opinions about the sports by using adjectives and apply the sentence pattern of making suggestions with “let’s”. The skimming and scanning can instruct reading, increase the efficiency and improve their reading ability. Students can strengthen their writing ability by reading examples and practicing writing. Through the study of this unit, students can enhance their enthusiasm for sports and increase their interest in English learning.
