ABSTRACT:The title is regarded as the eye of the thesis, and the C-E translation of the title is the key approach to broaden the academic exchange with foreign scholars. Therefore, the C-E translating of the title of thesis which shall reach accuracy and convey the authors’ real meaning play a very important role in the exchange. 

　　　Translation must be faithful to the original text, the titles must be translated by the most refined language so as to reflect the theme of the text appropriately , then, the reader can understand the research topic of thesis and judge whether the thesis is worthy of reading.

    This paper attempts to analyze not only the errors but skills in C-E translation of the titles of thesis from English majors in Chongqing University of Science and Technology so as to improve the quality of the translation of the titles of thesis in the long run. After summarizing the translation of graduates’ thesis titles, it is apparently that most of them make some mistakes in translation of titles, especially for the accurate conveying of their ideas and the conformation to the custom of foreign countries. So the paper aims to find some suitable translation methods or tragedies basing on the previous studies, then we can translate the titles more effectively and accurately.

摘要:题目是文章的眼睛，论文题目的英译是扩大对外交流的主要方式。因此，论文题目英译的准确性并能传达作者的真实意图在对外交流中起到非常重要的作用。

　　　翻译要忠实原文,论文标题的英译必须用最精炼的语言恰如其分地体现全文的主题和核心,读者才可以快速了解论文研究的主题,从而判断该文献内容对自己是否有阅读的价值。

　　　本文试图分析重庆科技学院英语专业论文题目英译中的错误，从而提高今后论文题目英译的质量。在分析了往届毕业论文题目英译后，很显然，大部分的题目英译有明显不足，特别是传达作者的真实意图及符合西方国家的习惯表达。因此，本文基于前人的研究寻求一些合适的翻译方法和技巧，从而指导我们更有效更准确的翻译论文题目。
