Abstract: This article mainly discusses the differences between Chinese and American diet by illustrating the differences in diet content, diet concept, diet cooking and dietary mode and explores the causes of the differences from such four aspects as differences in society, ideology, customs and religious beliefs so as to highlight the significance of the dietetic culture which is expected to reinforce the communication and promote the cooperation and development between China and the United States.
