Abstract: Reading strategies are intended to help learners read more effectively. English learners should know how and when to use them. The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of non-English majors' use of English reading strategies. Questionnaire is used in the study and about 80 non-English majors participate in it. Data are collected and then processed by SPSS. The results imply that students are weak in using reading strategies. It is suggested they should be trained to use them more frequently and effectively.
