Abstract: This paper compares and analyzes two different English translation versions of Moonlight over the Lotus Pond by Zhu Chunshen and Wang Jiaosheng. It will study that whether the two translators’ have chosen the appropriate translation skills. What’s more, it studies the two translators’ understandings of Zhu Ziqing’s mood. Comparisons are made in details, including choice of words, rhetorical devices and sentence structures, to analyze whether the translation could let readers understand original author’s feelings. On the basis of this study, we can learn translation methods and skills from the two famous translators. Key words: Moonlight over the Lotus Pond; comparative analysis; translation skills
