Abstract: The aim of studying English is to train the students’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening is the basic element of the four basic skills of English learning. It plays a very important role in international communication and English learning. However, listening comprehension is the biggest problem most students have to face. They just focus on vocabulary building and language knowledge and ignore the use of learning strategies while doing listening practice, which would lead to their inefficient learning. So we make some suggestion based on the results of the questionnaires to improve the current situation. Key words: junior students; listening strategies; learning strategies; English listening
