Abstract: Anxiety is one of the important emotional factors in English learning. A large number of studies have shown that debilitating anxiety can affect English input, processing and output, especially the oral English output. This research adopts questionnaires to survey 120 English majors and non-English majors from Nanjing Xiaozhuang University in terms of their level of English speaking anxiety. It shows that students have moderate English-speaking anxiety; there is no significant difference in the level of English speaking anxiety between English majors and non-English majors.
