Abstract: Combining the study of the writing background of the author Flannery O’Connor, this paper makes a research on the religious color in Wise Blood, aiming to find out her writing style and purpose. It mainly introduces the introduction of the author, religion of Southern American and religious color on the main characters along with the writing background. We hope that we can reach a highly understanding of the writing style and attitude of the author through this full-length novel and have a good comprehending of the author herself. Through the novel of Wise Blood, we can regard it as a basis of reading other O’Conner’s novels, and it can be easier for us to understanding the themes and ideas of them. Furthermore, we can get close to American literature.
