Abstract: Body language is an essential medium for people to communicate in the daily life by means of facial expressions, eye contact, gesture and posture, space and distance. Body language has important influence on students', especially pupils’ acquisition. This study is aimed to carry on a preliminary discussion on the teachers' body language in the primary school English listening and speaking teaching. Based on the background and theories relevant to body language and psychology, the author focuses the study on the predecessors' exploration, summarizes the concrete application of body language in primary school English listening and speaking teaching and puts forwards some reflections in the course of practice. In addition, some of the warnings and strategies are stressed to avoid inappropriate use of body language in teaching English listening and speaking in primary school.
