摘要：小学英语教学中，教师的课堂教学和方法尤为重要，它能够直接影响课堂的教学效果。在传统的英语教学中，老师精心的讲解，孩子们被动的机械的训练，使孩子失去了学习英语的兴趣。兴趣也是儿童个性发展的条件之一，儿童对于某件事物的兴趣同样也体现了对他的某种能力的体现。小学老师要很好的利用儿童的这种心理，才可以积极有效的激起儿童学习英语的兴趣。课堂游戏教学不仅能够让儿童能够劳逸结合，能够让他们体会到学习英语的兴趣，还可以培养孩子对英语语言运用的能力，更重要的是可以让孩子在情境中去学习英语。文章主要介绍了作为小学英语老师，我们为什么在要在课堂中使用游戏教学？游戏教学设计的注意事项与评价以及游戏教学的优缺点。
