Abstract：When Austen began her literary creation, the early feminist tradition was under way in English novels. Austen inherits what is good in female writing and also abandons what is bad. Her keen observation results in her profound thoughts about the problems women are faced with. This is well presented in her novel Emma. The first part briefly introduces Jane Austen’s literary achievements and Emma. The second part discusses feminist ideas in the novel, including her assertion of women’s intellectual power and her radical views on marriage. This paper aims to analyze feminist ideas in the novel by examining the personality of the heroine- Emma and marriage life of other female characters. Readers can know more about feminist ideas in Emma.

摘要：在奥斯汀开始文学创作时，英国小说中的女性主义传统已经初现端倪。奥斯汀对女性作家的创作既有继承，也有摒弃。她敏锐的观察力使她对妇女面临的问题有着深刻的感受，并在她的作品《爱玛》中得到深刻体现。第一部分简要介绍奥斯汀生平、文学成就及《爱玛》的内容。第二部分论述了《爱玛》中的女性主义观点，它主要包含两个方面。首先，奥斯汀坚持女性具有和男性同样的智力:其次，奥斯汀持有复杂而又激进的婚姻观。本文旨在通过对女主人公爱玛的不同性格特征以及其他女性人物婚姻生活的分析来论述女性主义在本作品中的体现，使读者更了解本书中女性主义思想的体现。
