Abstract: This thesis arms to research Jane Austen’s views on marriage in Pride and Prejudice by analyzing the four marriages in the novel and probing into the British women’s status in 18th century. In the novel, Jane Austen mainly focuses on the four marriages. The marriage of Charlotte and Collins is based on money. After they get married, they do not feel happy. The marriage of Wickham and Lydia is based on pure passion. They also do not have happiness after marriage. Only the marriage of Darcy and Elizabeth and marriage of Jane and Bingley are happy finally. They lead a happy life because their marriage is dependent on financial element and mutual love rather than pure passion or money. In terms of the four marriages, it is not difficult to make a conclusion: it is foolish and blindfold to have the marriage based on love; the marriage only focusing on money and chattels is impossible to be happy. The perfect marriage must be based on both love and money.

摘要：本文分析了《傲慢与偏见》中四对年轻男女的婚姻，通过了解18世纪英国妇女的地位，旨在发现作者简奥斯汀在该小说中透露出来的婚姻观，为我们学习英国文学了解西方文化奠定基础。经笔者研究分析四对青年男女的婚姻，夏洛蒂和科林斯的婚姻完全是建立在金钱，婚后，他们的婚姻生活并不幸福。莉迪亚和韦翰的婚姻完全是建立在激情冲动上，只有单纯的爱情也注定着他们的婚姻不会幸福。另外两对婚姻才是作者简奥斯汀所要表达出她这位伟大的英国女作家的婚姻观,虽然达西和伊利莎白是经过一些曲折才最终在一起的，但是他们是幸福的，彬格莱和简也是如此:只有爱情的婚姻是盲目愚蠢的，只看重金钱、财产的婚姻最终也不可能是幸福的。没有爱情千万不能结婚，因为理想的婚姻最重要的是以感情为基础。
