Abstract:This paper presents a study of Chinese politeness strategies in the process of requesting suggestions. Altogether, 22 examples are given. They are either cited from the Chinese movie named “Turn Left, Turn Right” or collected by myself as a Chinese native speaker. They are analyzed in terms of four topics:

　1) Employing right address forms.

　2) Maintaining each other’s face.

　3) Making or refusing compliments.

　4) Choosing proper honorifics.

中文摘要:这篇论文就用汉语向他人咨询建议或者意见过程当中涉及到的礼貌对策进行了分析和研究。本文当中所运用到的22个例子大部分选自于电影《向左走，向右走》；另外限额小部分来自于本人作为一个以汉语为母语的中国人的长年观察和积累。通篇文章，这22个例子从四个不同的角度论证了在向他人咨询建议或意见过程当中，汉语礼貌言辞趋向于间接委婉，而这又是和中国几千年来深受孔夫子思想影响紧密相连的。这四个角度分别是：

　　　1）：选择适当的称呼；

　　　2）： 给双方留面子；

　　　3）：作恰当的称赞；

　　　4）：运用准确的敬语。
