Abstract:Nowadays, we all live in the global village. We always use English as a tool to communicate with others around the world. English becomes an important international language, and the language is the carrier of culture, so the culture is related with the language learning. In 1990s, Professor Hu Wenzhong has brought forward the cross-cultural background knowledge in English teaching. Since 1990, it has been developing a new expansion on language teaching. Reading plays an important role in English learning in recent years. More and more reading comprehension tests are emerging in many English examinations. So through grasping the cross-cultural background knowledge, readers can improve the comprehension on reading and the English reading level. However, the cross-cultural background knowledge teaching was often neglected by educational scholars. And it wasn’t prevalent in the modern English reading lessons. This paper aims to explain the necessity and impacts of cross-cultural background knowledge teaching, and the effective methods of input in the English reading. 中文摘要:在现今社会,我们共住在地球村。我们用英语作为沟通世界的工具,英语成为一种重要的国际语言,而语言是文化的载体,所以文化关系到语言的学习。在20世纪90年代,胡文仲教授提出跨文化背景知识教学。在90年代后,跨文化背景知识教育发展成为新内涵的语言教学。 阅读在英语学习中起着十分重要的作用,特别是近年来,阅读在英语测试中占据着越来越重要的位置。因此,通过掌握跨文化背景知识,读者就能提高阅读理解的能力和英语的阅读水平。 然而,在当今的英语教学中,不少教育家和学者都忽视跨文化背景知识的重要性。所以本文旨在解释跨文化背景知识在阅读中的重要性和影响,及其有效导入的教学方法。 关键词: 跨文化背景知识;阅读;导入 |
