Abstract: Learning English is the basic requirement of the 21st century, so the elementary school students should lay the basis for learning English. With the development of English teaching reform in the primary school, there is a growing concern with students’ individual needs and individual development. For various reasons, some students have English learning anxiety which is neither beneficial to students' English learning nor favorable to form a healthy personality. To understand the English learning anxiety better, the study employed the research design of a questionnaire, surveying 220 students from Guanghuamen primary school in Nanjing. The questionnaire was made up of 30 questions including three English learning anxiety types, namely, test anxiety, communication anxiety, and negative evaluation anxiety. Based on the data collected from the questionnaire, the author investigated the present situation of primary school students’ English learning anxiety in general. And then the study discusses the reasons for English anxiety, and puts forward proposals to reduce the English learning anxiety for the ultimate purpose of improving English teaching quality. 摘要:在21世纪,学习英语是最基本的要求,因此小学生要为学习英语打下坚实的基础。随着小学英语教学改革的发展,学生个人的需求和个人的发展得到了持续的关注。由于各种原因,一些学生有英语学习的焦虑,这既不利于学生的英语学习也不利于他们形成健全的人格。为了更好地了解目前小学生外语学习焦虑,研究采用问卷调查形式,调查对象是来自南京市光华门小学的220名小学生,该问卷共有30个题目,内容包括小学生英语学习焦虑的三种类型,即考试焦虑、交际焦虑和负面评价焦虑,依据问卷收集的数据,对调查结果进行了描述性统计分析。调查结果表明,小学生的英语学习焦虑情况普遍存在。文章相应地提出了一些措施探讨小学生英语学习中出现的焦虑,探究小学生在英语学习过程中焦虑产生的原因,研究制定出相应的对策和解决方法,及时有效地减轻、消除学生的焦虑情绪,以达到提高学生学习效果,整体优化英语教学的目的。 关键词:小学生; 英语焦虑; 焦虑变量; 解决策略 |
