Abstract：Addressing is an important part in any language communication. The forms of addressing are signals of relationship between a person and his/her listeners. In the course of communication, with the differences of the role and the power of the addresser, the forms of addressing are also different. Although the addressing forms have been discussed respectively both in English and in Chinese, this paper will make a comparison of addressing forms based on the differences of cultures between two languages.

中文摘要：称呼语是语言交流的一个重要部分，同时称呼形式是一个人和他的倾听者所具有的体现二者关系的符号。由于在交流过程中被称呼的人所起的作用和具有的权势不同，称呼的形式也不同。尽管英语和汉语的称呼形式人们已经分别讨论过了，但是这篇论文将在不同的文化背景下对英语和汉语这两种语言称呼语的不同点作一个比较。
