Abstract:Oration is a social long-lasting activity, which is developing with the human civilization. It has a remarkable position in the world, especially at some special times. Political oration is just a part of it, which shows its special functions in political struggle. Political oration, as a means of communication, has the features of conciseness, pertinence, and agitation. This paper is aiming at giving a brief analysis on the three main features and its effects.

　　　With the feature of conciseness in an oration, an orator can express his viewpoints and his thoughts clearly in a certain time. Thus it can help save the time, which may be suitable for the audience. With the feature of pertinence in an oration, an orator can pay much attention on the surroundings and the audience. The feature of agitation just points out the purpose for each oration. From these features, the functions of political are gradually apparent. Political oration influences not only the orator, the audience, but also the society. Thus political oration plays a vital role in political struggle and military war all the time.

     To make a summary, this paper will help to appreciate the charm of oration, improve the language skills, and also train the eloquence.
