Abstract: In this thesis, C-E translation of publicity materials will be discussed in terms of existing translation problems and relevant translation techniques. The paper examines how translators apply the functionalist translation theory to the C-E translation of publicity materials, notably Vermeer’s Skopostheorie. In the translation process, translators are obliged to bear in mind the intended function of the target text and produce a version that is comprehensible and acceptable to the target language readers. Owing to great differences in language and culture, the translation process usually involves considerable adjustments of the source text in order to achieve the intended function of the target text. The paper concludes that functionalist theories, Skopostheorie in particular, are very instructive in translating publicity materials. 摘要:本文主要探讨外宣材料翻译中存在的问题和相关翻译技巧。另外,本文还论述了翻译者该如何将功能翻译理论,特别是费米尔的“目的论”,运用于外宣材料的翻译中。在翻译过程中,翻译者必须铭记译文的功能所在,从而翻译出可供目的语读者理解和接受的译文。由于语言和文化上的巨大差异,翻译时经常要对原文作大量的调整以实现译文的功能。本文认为:功能翻译理论,尤其是“目的论”,对对外宣翻译有很强的指导意义。 关键词:翻译;外宣材料;功能翻译理论 |
