Abstract:   Nowadays, social Euphemism has become the indispensible part of communication and therefore specialists and scholars proposed many relative researches on this topic. The paper presents several definitions about euphemisms or the use in journalism. In addition, the function and the influence of Euphemism in journalism are also analyzed. As for their translation, two approaches are investigated, with a lot examples illustrated. It concludes that keeping euphemism intact can bring freshness and conciseness to Chinese readers while abandoning the original euphemism, though causing some loss, can help readers better understand information in the news.

摘要：当今社会委婉语已经成为信息交流中不可或缺的一部分，因此很多专家学者也就围绕委婉语提出了许多相关的研究课题。本文就委婉语在各式新闻英语中的应用进行了一系列简单的讨论，另外 ，也对新闻中委婉语的功能及其影响进行了分析。而至于如何对其进行翻译，本文就两种翻译方法进行了探讨，并且文中给出了很多例子予以说明。我们可以由此得出一个结论，保持委婉语的完整性可以给中国读者带来新鲜和简洁感，然而与此同时，取缔原有的委婉语会造成一些损失，但是可以帮助读者更好地理解新闻中的内容。
