Abstract：Language and culture are closely related to each other. With the development of the society, Chinese and western people endow animals with their own meanings, which is different. To achieve clear communication, this paper will make a comparison of cultural connotation of animal words between English and Chinese, by giving some common examples of animals from the aspects of the same connotation, totally different connotations, and partial relevant connotations etc. The ultimate goal is to make people know well about the cultural connotations between English and Chinese and to promote mutual communication.

摘要：语言和文化密不可分。如今，随着社会的不断发展，中西方人们赋予了动物词汇各自的文化内涵，为了达到很好的交流，本文将举一些常用的例子，从完全相同，完全不同，部分重叠等几方面来探讨中西方动物文化内涵的对比，从而使大家更加了解中西方文化内涵，促进交流。
