ABSTRACT:The Fall of the House of Usher is a well-known story of the famous American  novelist, Edgar Allon  Poe, and it is popular for its rich symbolism. Symbolism refers to a concrete or an abstract object or action used to represent an abstract idea. The Fall of the House of Usher is a psychologically terrifying story, and the value of this story is to probe into the inward description of people’s inside by symbolism. This paper aims to use the deep interpretation of symbolism to interpret the use of Symbolism. It concerns on the interpretation of the symbolic meanings of Usher’s name,the house and the environment, as well as some objects in the story. Interpreting the symbolic meanings of people and things enables us to know and understand the story better;Finally, Interpreting the symbolic meanings in the story enables us to know the Roderick’s inner world,which is highly preoccupied by Edgar Allan·Poe.

摘要:《厄舍老屋的倒塌》是美国著名小说作家爱伦·坡的一部经典杰作。这个故事以丰富的象征主义艺术手法和恐怖的手法而闻名。象征主义是指用一个具体或者抽象的物体或者行动去表现一种抽象的思想。《厄舍老屋的倒塌》是一部演绎心灵恐怖的作品，该小说的价值在于爱伦·坡用象征主义手法去探索人物的内心世界。这篇论文的关注点是通过对象征主义意义的深刻解读去分析小说中象征手法的应用。本文围绕爱伦·坡对象征手法的应用去分析文章解读文章，以及小说中出现的一些物体的象征主义意义进行了全面的解读。通过对厄舍，房屋，周围的环境等情景的象征主义意义的分析可以帮助我们更好的理解文章及主人公的内心世界，从而反应出爱伦·坡对人类精神困境的高度关注。
