Abstract:English phonetics is important for English learning. However, English phonetics teaching was neglected in rural areas for a long time. This paper adopts questionnaire, classroom observation and interviews to make a survey of nine teachers and sixty students in Xiao Long Dong Junior High school. The writer tries to analyze the situation of teachers’ English phonetics teaching and teachers’ attitude about English phonetics teaching. The bad effects of teachers’ neglecting of English phonetics teaching were shown, too. The writer aims to draw teacher’s attentions to English phonetics teaching by this paper, and put forward some suggestions to teachers, which hopefully will help teachers to resolve the problems and improve English teaching efficiency in rural areas.

摘要:英语语音在英语学习中占据一个重要的位置，但在农村中学中，语音教学一直被教师们忽视。本文通过问卷调查、课堂观察和访谈，对一所农村中学的九名教师和六十名学生进行了调查研究。作者试图调查分析老师对英语语音教学的态度和语音教学的现状以及忽视语音教学带来的各种问题。作者旨在通过此文引起农村中学教师对语音教学的重视，然后尝试着给老师们提出一些建议，希望对提高村中学的英语教学质量有所帮助。
