Abstract:English listening is very difficult for Chinese students, it is more difficult for the students in rural areas. This paper aims to study the factors affecting rural middle school students’ English listening comprehension and find out some strategies. The paper first summarizes research purpose and some theoretical basis of English listening,then conducts a survey on rural middle school students’ English listening in Yuanzi middle school. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are used in this research. The qualitative part of the study analyzed classroom observation and open interviews with students,teachers and parents,aiming to study the psychology factors influencing rural middle school students’ English listening. The quantitative part of the study is conducting questionnaires to 100 students from grade 7, 8and9 of Yuanzi middle school. It examines the current situation of students’ English listening. Then the researcher analyzed the data of the survey and found the factors affecting rural middle school students’ English listening, there are some subjective factors and objective factors. Based on these factors, the researcher put forward some useful suggestions for further English listening in rural middle school.

中文摘要:英语听力对于中国学生来说是十分困难的,而对于条件差的农村学生来说,难度就更大了。这篇文章旨在研究影响农村中学生英语听力理解的因素并找出解决对策。文章首先总结了研究目标和关于英语听力的一些理论依据,然后对威信县院子中学进行了一项关于影响农村中学生英语听力理解的因素及对策的调查研究,这项研究通过定性研究和定量研究的方法阐述了威信县院子中学学生英语听力的现状。定性研究是运用访谈和观察的方法,对学生,老师和家长进行调查研究影响农村中学生英语听力理解的心理因素。定量研究是对院子中学100名学生进行问卷调查,了解他们的学习背景和现状。最后结合研究获得的数据进行分析整理,找出了影响农村中学生英语听力理解的因素,有一些主观因素和客观因素,根据这些因素作者对农村中学的英语听力提出了一些建议。
