Abstract: Based on the contrast of great differences of kinship terms between Chinese and English, this paper analyzes and reveals the cultural factors which lead to the differences from family type and blood relationship, clannishness, values and hierarchy, and five translation methods are proposed on how to translate kinship terms between Chinese and English under the translating guidance which is pragmatic equivalent translation and relevance theory.

摘要：英汉亲属称谓之间存在很大的差异，本文首先将英汉两种语言称谓系统进行归纳对比。然后分别从家庭结构和血统观念、宗法观念、价值观念和等级观念等文化角度来分析两种语言称谓系统存在差异的原因。最后在英汉亲属称谓语翻译的指导策略“关联翻译理论”和“语用对等翻译理论”下对中英称谓语的翻译提出五种方法。
