Abstract: This thesis intends to give an ecological analysis of O,Pioneers!, the representative   work of American female writer Willa Cather of the 20th century. Through the analysis of the process of Alexandra’s change from anthropocentrism to ecocentrism, this thesis discusses the relation between human and nature. And this thesis draws a conclusion that O,Pioneers! embodies Cather’s deep ecological thoughts and ecocentrism—nature has two sides. When pioneers try to conquer it with violence, it is infertile; when pioneers protect nature with love, it is prosperous and gives gifts to human. The purpose of this thesis is to disclose the necessity of harmonious relationship between nature and human, to reflect strained relation between nature and human in modern society. This thesis also strives to arouse people’s ecological consciousness and awareness of environmental protection and promote the harmonious coexistence between human and nature.

摘要：本文旨在从生态主义的角度来诠释20世纪美国女作家薇拉·凯瑟的代表作品之一《啊，拓荒者！》，通过分析亚历山德拉从一个人类中心主义者转变为生态中心主义者的过程，来探讨作品中通过亚历山德拉所反映出来的人与自然的关系。结论认为《啊，拓荒者！》中蕴含了凯瑟浓厚的生态思想和生态中心主义的基本理论，即自然具有两面性，当人们用暴力去征服它时，自然变得贫瘠；当人们用爱来保护自然时，自然变得繁荣并给予人类馈赠。本论文旨在揭示人类与自然和谐相处的重要性，从而反思当代人与自然的紧张关系，并力求唤起人们的生态意识和环境保护意识，促进人与自然之间的和谐共处。
