Abstract: With the growth of global economy, the communications between countries have been increasing, resulting in frequent import and export of products. As for those foreign products rushing into Chinese market, besides their quality, the translation of product instructions is crucial to appeal customers. A well-translated product instruction not only offers necessary information but also helps attract potential customers. As for this part, the skopos theory put basis for the E-C translation of product instructions. It deems that the prime principle determining any translation process is the purpose of the overall translation action. Accordingly, the function of the target text is emphasized. This paper analyzes the linguistic features of product instruction as an applicable document and attempts an analysis of effective E-C translation strategies of product instructions from the perspective of skopos theory. It is held that the skopos theory can be practically taken as the theoretical basis in this field, and, on the basis of three principles of skopos theory, the translator can adjust translation methods according to the anticipated function or purpose of the translated text. 摘要:随着全球经济的发展,商品进出口日益增多,近几年有大批国外产品进入我国。除了产品本身的质量外,产品说明书翻译对产品销售也起到了至关重要的作用,因为高质量的产品说明书翻译不仅能给消费者提供必要的信息,还能增加人们对产品的兴趣,吸引潜在客户。翻译目的论为产品说明书的汉译提供了理论依据,该理论认为翻译行为都是由翻译目的来决定的。本文分析了产品说明书作为应用文体的语言特点,并从目的论角度分析了产品说明书汉译的策略。译者可以目的论三原则为基准,根据译文的预期功能或目的调整翻译策略。 关键词:目的论; 产品说明书; 翻译策略 |
