Abstract:Vocabulary is one of the three core elements of English learning. The numbers of vocabulary that one mustered have a close relationship with their English level. But usually it is a difficult task to teach and acquire vocabulary. This study tries to know more about the Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition through reading of the Second Year High School Students, and tries to help students to acquire vocabulary from this way. A questionnaire, interview and case study were used to collect the data that were discussed in the paper. The findings show evidence that the participants can acquire vocabulary incidentally through reading. And in the process of Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition through reading, a number of factors of the reading materials may impact on learners’ vocabulary acquisition. Hopefully this study can provide some hints for learners on what to do or should do to aid the process of acquiring vocabulary through reading. 摘要:词汇是英语学习的三个核心要素之一,学习者的英语水平与其词汇量的大小有着密切关系。然而,词汇,无论对于英语教学者和学习者来说都是一个巨大的难题。设计这项研究是试图了解腾冲一中高中二年级学生的阅读与词汇附带习得的情况,并试图让学生学会通过阅读附带习得词汇。此次研究采用了问卷调查、访谈及个案研究等方法来收集数据。从对调查的结果进行分析来看, 学习者能够通过阅读附带习得词汇,并且在阅读与附带词汇习得的过程中一些与阅读材料有关的因素会影响学习者的词汇习得。希望这项研究能为老师和学生有效的利用阅读附带习得词汇提供有益的启示。 关键词:词汇附带习得;阅读;高二年级学生 |
