Abstract:English extracurricular activities are the supplement of English teaching in the classroom. It plays an important role in English teaching. However, in some rural middle schools, both English teachers and students know the importance of English extracurricular activities, but they neglect the value of the activities in practical teaching and learning. In this study, the researcher chose the second year students in Gudong Middle School in Tengchong County as specimen, adopted questionnaire and interview to investigate the current situation of English extracurricular activities. From the results, although the participants are aware of the importance of English extracurricular activities, they do not organize the activities authentically and fully because of all kinds of reasons. The investigation shows there are many problems in English extracurricular activities:A few and dull English extracurricular activities; lack of fund; lack of necessary device and skills; etc. Meanwhile, this paper introduces the solution to the current situation, such as how to improve the quantity and quality of English extracurricular activities, how to gain more fund and buy more necessary device, etc. Keywords: Gudong middle school; the second year students; English extracurricular activities; problems existing; strategies of solution
摘要:英语课外活动是英语课堂教学的补充。它在英语教学中起着举足轻重的作用。然而,一些乡村中学的英语教师和学生虽然知道英语课外活动的重要性,但他们在实际的教学和学习中却忽视它的作用。本文随机抽取了腾冲县固东中学初二年级部分学生作为调查样本,并采用问卷和采访的方式调查英语课外活动的开展情况。从数据中可以看出,虽然教师和学生都能够意识到英语课外活动的重要性,但由于种种原因,他们并未从真正意义上把这项活动开展起来。通过分析调查结果,发现固东中学英语课外活动存在活动少、活动枯燥、缺乏资金和一些必要的设备与技巧等问题。针对现状,本文提出了一些相应的解决办法,如提高英语课外活动的数量和质量;得到更多的资金投入和购买必要的设备;提高活动技巧等。 关键词: 固东中学;初二学生;英语课外活动;存在问题;解决策略 |
