Abstract: Film title translation is important and also creative work. An excellent translated version can contribute a lot to the box-office sale of a new film. Creative treason is always one of the most debated methods in translation circles. However, scholars seldom study it in film title translation. This paper will focus on the duality of creative treason under the guidance of Skopos theory. That is to say, argue the impossibility of “faithfulness” at the level of language in the process of translating an English film title and, at the same time, explain the degree of “treason” in translation. Finally, an appropriate method, dealing with “faithfulness” and “treason” in the principle of Skopos theory, appears naturally.

摘要：电影片名翻译是一项重要而富有创造性的工作，绝妙的片名翻译能为影片锦上添花，在新片的推介过程中具有举足轻重的作用。“创造性叛逆”一直是翻译界备受争议的方法之一，但目前鲜少有人对影片名翻译中的“创造性叛逆”进行研究。本文将以功能目的论为理论指导，探讨“创造性叛逆”的双重性。即，阐明英文电影片名在汉译过程中语言层面上“忠实”的不可行性以及“叛逆”的适度性，实为一种以功能目的论为指导原则的翻译方法。
