Abstract: With frequent exchanges between China and the outside world, it is essential for people to keep informed of new developments through various means. Reading English news is an important way for people to know what is happening throughout the world. However, as a genre of English, journalistic English has its own linguistic features. Focusing on the aspect of lexicology, this paper aims to investigate the lexical features of journalistic English so as to help English learners read English news more accurately and efficiently and improve their English as well.
