Abstract:With the development of economic globalization, Foreign Trade English (abbreviated as FTE) becomes increasingly important in international trade and much attention has been paid to its translation. As English for Special Purpose (abbreviated as ESP), it has its own distinctive language features. On the basis of research achievements made by many scholars and experts at home and abroad, this paper analyzes and summarizes three principles and criteria of FTE translation with large numbers of detailed examples, which could be of benefit for those who are working in the foreign trade. This thesis is composed of four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to a brief discussion of current economic situation at home and abroad and stresses the importance of FTE translation. Chapter Two gives a brief introduction of FTE, and then discusses its lexical features, syntactic features and textual features respectively. Chapter Three is the main body of the thesis. The first part presents three principles of FTE translation with many examples. The second part presents three criteria with detailed explanations. Chapter Four provides a systematic conclusion of what has been covered in the previous chapters.
