ABSTRACT:This paper tries to investigate and analyze the oral English learning strategies at No.3 middle school in Meng Zi and No.3 middle school in Shi Ping, and then the author tries to make a comparison with both of two school students’ oral English learning strategies situation through memory strategies, cognitive strategies, compensation strategies, metacognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies. No.3 middle school in Meng Zi is a town school, while No.3 middle school in Shi Ping is a rural school. This paper also makes a contrastive analysis of the using of the same strategy in urban and rural area by SPSS. The situations of application direct strategies are significantly different in town and rural junior middle school students. But in rural, students’ apply direct strategies to learn oral English ability level is very weak. Metacognitive strategies and affective strategies have a significant difference in towns and rural. The application of social strategies to learn oral English ability level is very weak wherever town and rural. The aim of this paper is to provide theoretical reasons to teachers’ oral English teaching as well as giving suitable suggestions to students’ oral English learning, so as to help students overcome oral English learning difficulties and help them to improve oral English learning abilities.
