ABSTRACT
-With the rapid development of economy, the proportion of education in the overall national strength is becoming more and more prominent, and the differences between Chinese and American higher education is more and more obvious, the two countries have also opened in the concept of higher education. Both countries have advantages and disadvantages in their higher education, they opened to each other and adopt those advanced ideas from each other that make great contributions to the development of national higher education. This paper reviews the differences from the perspective of intercultural communication. The main differences between American and Chinese higher education are the administrative system, teaching methods, teaching courses, teaching evaluation and moral education. This article provides an overview of these differences and summarizes the author's own experiences of studying abroad. -The full text is divided into seven parts: first, culture and intercultural communication. It mainly expounds the definition and function of culture and a brief introduction to intercultural communication. Second, the present situation of higher education in China and America. Fifth, the status of Chinese students in America, focused on the living conditions of international students. Sixth, the outlook of higher education in China and America in twenty-first century.
