Abstract
Information gap is the fundamental force of language communication. It plays important roles in English teaching, such as stimulating the students’ learning motivation, promoting the second language acquisition and developing their communicative competence. Combining with theory of language acquisition and communicative approach, it can benefit the language learner a lot. And, it also discusses how to use it appropriately.
