Abstract

 

The book-The Great Gatsby has gained great reputation both at home and abroad since its first publication in 1925. And since it came out, there have been many scholars doing various studies on the novel. Moreover, for its high popularity, the original book has been adapted to movie for many times amid which The Great Gatsby (2013), with famous actors and advanced 3D technology, has been regarded as the one most faithful to the original and has attracted widespread attentions of scholars all over the world. In fact, it is obvious that the original novel and 2013 film adaption have many commons and differences. Thus this thesis will dwell on the study about the similarities and differences of the two works in narrative strategy and artistic features in order to show the particular beauty of the two works.
