Grammar, which can be divided into explicit grammar and implicit grammar, is the basis of learning a language. To have a good master of grammar is the precondition of effective output for learners. At the same time, as the development of society, English reading is as important as grammar learning, not only for getting high points in exams, but also for gaining daily information. In English teaching process, both of them can’t be neglected. Under the background of current English learning and teaching situation—teacher’s less attention to the grammar and reading teaching and student’s not knowing how to improve reading skills by learning grammar, it’s necessary to have a deeper research about the relationship between grammar and reading. Teachers should create a comfortable reading environment and design some interesting activities in relative to grammar knowledge and then focus on the development of reading strategies. For students, they should raise the interest of grammar learning in reading and change the passive positions in leaning English.
