Abstract
This thesis is based on the development of children (the development of psychology and cognition). It analyzes games and its applications to primary English teaching with many current theories of using games in teaching. Firstly, theoretical analysis has been done from the history of game teaching, definition and significance of using games in teaching. Secondly, several types of games are introduced in primary English teaching. Thirdly, analysis has been done from the development of children’s psychology. What the role of the teachers in operation of games and problems of using games in primary English teaching, Finally, a summary has been made about games and the application in primary English teaching. Hopefully, more and more teachers can realize its importance and make appropriate use of it in their teaching.
